We Always Swing Closing Out their 27th Season

The We Always Swing Jazz Series, couldn’t think of a better way to close out their 27th Season then to ask three of their favorite musicians to take a leap of faith. To do something musically that they have never tried previously.

Each a good friend of the other, pianist Bruce Barth, clarinetist/saxophonist Anat Cohen, and saxophonist/flautist Steve Wilson all return to Columbia for a Special Event Fundraiser and Important Organizational Announcement on June 26 at the new University of Missouri, School of Music, Sinquefield Music Center inside the recently named Sheryl Crow Hall.

Barth, Cohen, and Wilson are three of the world’s most accomplished jazz musicians. Each artist -- leading their own ensembles or working with others – has made multiple Jazz Series appearances. On separate occasions Mr. Barth and Ms. Cohen performed as a duo, as did Mr. Barth and Mr. Wilson; the latter twosome was captured live, resulting in the Jazz Series’ internationally distributed release, HOME: Live in Columbia, Missouri (2010).

This occasion, however, marks the first time all three highly acclaimed musicians take the stage together. This special performance is limited to 120 tickets and includes a pre-concert reception featuring cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. For more information on how you can reserve tickets to this special evening of music, call the We Always Swing Jazz Series at (573) 449-3009.
